well, i am finally getting around to starting my entire NY recap her on the blog. silly me, i thought i would actually be able to blog daily while i was there {what in the world was i thinking? such an amateur}. but if you follow me on twitter, instagram, vine, and facebook, you’ve seen all the behind-the-scenes coverage already! now that i’ve experienced my first trip to NY for ifbcon and nyfw, i realize that it was an impossible expectation to blog daily… especially for me {as my readers, you know more than anyone that timeliness with blogging is not my strong suit. quality over quantity, right? thank you for your endless patience!}

i already have a smile on my face writing this post because it takes me back to such an amazing memory. i have to admit i’m going through a bit of post-nyfw depression right now. it’s so hard to believe it’s over, but i am beyond thankful for those 10 days and will treasure them in my heart forever. fingers crossed it won’t be my last nyfw, because i already can’t wait to go back and experience the madness all over again.

one of my favorite parts of the week was the independent fashion bloggers conference, or ifbcon– i learned so much about blogging, and more importantly i met some of the best blogging friends i could ask for. it was such a heart-warming and inspiring feeling being surrounded by like-minded souls, equally obsessed with their blogs and their readers. i want to mention my darling meaghan of district sparkle, who i had bonded with over twitter prior to the trip and somehow managed to love even more in person. this girl is such a gem and i know you will all adore her blog, so check it out. she introduced me to lacy of a lacey perspective, who is a veteran blogger and took me under her wing and taught me the ropes of fashion week for a day… before she and meaghan left me to handle nyfw for a week on my own! meaghan also introduced me to amanda of slow like honey, who is a new yorker and so she knows the city and the routine and all about blogging and bloggers and everything else. all of these girls are so fun and down to earth– i know you will enjoy reading their blogs. turning blogger friends into real life friends is the absolute best.

above are a few shots of what i wore to ifbcon. i want to thank heidi of jax and jewels for being such a trooper and snapping our photos on command and putting up with our blogger demands {if you’ve ever taken outfit shots for a blogger, you know what i mean. it’s definitely a world unto its own}. heidi is a sweetheart and a budding photographer/blogger who joined meaghan on her trip to NY. we were so lucky to have her there.

as for ifbcon, it was truly an education for me as a blogger. the moderators and panelists shared their knowledge, experience, and advice with us, giving us both a reality check at times and inspiration in the truest sense of the word. some personal favorites included tina of bag snob, grace of stripes & sequins, laura of on the racks, lisa salzer the founder of lulu frost, aimee of song of style, leandra the man repeller, and liz of late afternoon. it was an unforgettable day. many, many thanks to ifb for putting on an amazing conference for us!

    Sensational tops – and adore that statement ring! It really IS all about the accessories.
